Cookie Policy
In short
Our website does not set any cookies and does not use analytics, advertising or tracking technologies. That's why you won't see a cookie banner. The only third-party service the site uses is Google Fonts (explained below), which does not set cookies.
This Cookie Policy explains how the Renewobuild website (the "site") uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your computer, phone or tablet when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, or provide information to the site owner, for example about how visitors use the site.
"Similar technologies" include browser storage (such as local storage and session storage), tracking pixels and device fingerprinting. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of these.
Cookies can be:
- First-party (set by the site you're visiting) or third-party (set by another company's service used on the site).
- Session cookies, deleted when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which stay until they expire or you delete them.
- Strictly necessary, needed for a service you've asked for, or non-essential, such as analytics, preferences and advertising.
2. How our website uses cookies
We have designed our site to work without cookies. At the date of this policy:
| Category | Used on our site? | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary cookies | No | The site doesn't need cookies to work, including the call-back form. |
| Preference / functionality cookies | No | — |
| Analytics / performance cookies | No | We don't use Google Analytics or any other analytics tool. |
| Advertising / targeting cookies | No | We don't run advertising or tracking on our site. |
| Local or session storage | No | The site doesn't store information in your browser. |
When you submit the call-back form, the details you enter are sent to us so we can reply. This is covered by our Privacy Policy, and no cookies are involved.
3. Third-party services
Google Fonts
The site displays text using fonts from Google Fonts, a service provided by Google. To load the fonts, your browser connects directly to Google's servers, which receive your IP address and information about your browser. Google Fonts does not set cookies and, according to Google, this information is used only to deliver the fonts efficiently. You can read more in Google's Google Fonts privacy FAQ and Privacy Policy.
Links to other websites
Our site contains links to other websites, such as the Information Commissioner's Office and Google. If you follow a link, that website may set its own cookies, which are governed by its own cookie and privacy policies, not this one.
Website hosting
Our website is hosted by Namecheap. Like any host, it keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) to deliver the site and keep it secure. This does not involve placing cookies on your device.
4. Consent and the law
In the UK, cookies are regulated by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), alongside the UK GDPR. Websites must ask for your consent before setting any cookie that isn't strictly necessary, and must explain clearly what each cookie does.
Because our site doesn't currently set any cookies, there is nothing for you to consent to, so we don't show a cookie banner. If we ever add non-essential cookies (for example, website analytics to help us improve the site), we will:
- ask for your consent first, through a banner that makes it as easy to refuse as to accept
- not set those cookies unless you agree
- let you change your choice at any time
- update this policy with a full list of the cookies used, who sets them, what they do and how long they last
5. How to control cookies
Whatever site you're on, you can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. You can usually block all cookies, block only third-party cookies, or delete cookies when you close your browser. Blocking all cookies may stop some websites from working properly.
The Information Commissioner's Office has more guidance about cookies at ico.org.uk.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example if we add new features or services to our site. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
